The difference between us and your local RICS, PCA or Damp Proofing Surveyor is we are  technically trained and qualified in scientific chemical analysis using sophisticated weight loss determinations coupled with Calcium Carbide testing along with earth Salt  elements such as Sulphate and Chloride complex determinations.  This is the only Scientific method to categorically prove the presence of moisture or Rising Damp. 

Its completely impossible to determine if a wall is Damp and has Rising Damp simply by using a Damp Meter they are not fit for purpose and only measure surface conductivity.  A Damp Meter should never be used by a competent Surveyor.  Most Surveyors in this industry are commissioned based Chemical Salesman who see a Survey as an opportunity to earn an income for themselves or employers by adopting the "Damp meter test, hack off and inject chemicals" mode of operation.  

Damp Meters should never be used in buildings they unquestionably misdiagnose Condensation as Rising Damp.  This practise now been not criticised at the highest levels in both RICS and BRE. The resulting Damp reading should never be used as a basis to sell toxic Rising Damp treatments causing extensive damage to decorations and the structure of the wall itself.  Let alone the cost to the Homeowner. 

The problem is simply education and training of RICS, PCA or Damp Proofing Surveyors. But if they did diagnose a problem correctly there would be no need for their Damp Proofing services at all. Thus, no Damp Proofing Company to run. Its no wonder they prefer the Damp meter option.

2. Analyse the samples using Laboratory equipment which will provide a truly accurate determination of the moisture and salt content of the wall in question.

3. Provide a Certificate of analysis signed off by the company Chemist that no induvial, Bank or Building Society can question or challenge.  

4. Save you thousands of pounds in totally unnecessary treatments and disruption of injecting Toxic Rising Damp Chemicals into your wall.
